a few minutes ago, I accidentally sent merchants to transfer resources instead of wheat. It would be nice if I could return it as i can return army.

You know you can hide those resources anyway? Just put an offer on market and take it back after attack.. making opportunity to cancel merchants going out as in RP wouldnt make difference in it

Not sure about the order (I always expected the warehouse to be emptied first, and if no resources are left, the offers are canceled and robbed), but yes, market offers should be robbed aswell (one never knows where some bug appear though).
Canceling outgoing merchants is not possible, because one could cancel accepted trade offers and thus scam the trade partner, by the way. At least that's what in my head from a similar questoin several years ago in T:L.

Canceling trade offers should be excluded from it. Its more like sending wrong res by missclick (i think everyone did it at least once on every server :D)

Sales offers are not visible immediately on the market. There is some (I do not know how many minutes) delay. In the middle of the delay time, traders could be turned back.
Of course, some players will use it as resource protection, as does the protection of the army. This will be a bonus for active players.

i think you should be able to cancel direct send of merchants - not trade offers
from what i know you can't steal offers on market, it is the best cranny of Teutons, but i may be wrong.
