Dear players,
many of you have shared with us your experiences with the menhir feature both on the forums and via our Help Center. We gathered several improvement ideas from all domains and came up with overhaul concept.
You will recognize some details from earlier player discussions about them, however some of them are new.
Basically, it’s about 3 key changes:
1. Area around the WW’s in which no one can relocate, only settle
2. Regulations for own and foreign troops
3. Reservation and cool down phase
1. Area around the World Wonders
Like the Halloween Hunt, there will be an area around the WW’s that no one can relocate to. The big difference to comx5: There won’t be other special rules for this area. This should ensure that the kingdom(s) around the WW have more time to react to suddenly appearing guerilla attacks.
Size: 13² map tiles = a quadrat with a radius of 7 fields around the WW tile.
2. Regulations for own and foreign troops
With “own troops”, we mean the troops of the player who wants to relocate.
- Own troops are only allowed as stationed or incoming -> no outgoing troop movements
- No foreign troops in relocating village allowed -> incoming reinforcements & espionage is canceled automatically
- Incoming attacks will hit the relocating village before the relocation
This means, that no one else can reinforce the relocating village. Plus, no one can relocate if there is an attack going on, incoming or outgoing.
If a foreign player is relocating next to your kingdom, you have a chance to attack them.
3. Reservation and cool down phase
We don’t want new players to suffer from the troop regulations. Especially when a village is on a farmlist, it would be very hard to join another kingdom. That is why there is the option to reserve a relocation.
As soon as a player accepts a relocation reservation, all outgoing troops will directly turn around and return to the village. All stationed troops will automatically be sent back.
After the relocation, the player will have a cooldown phase of 12h/Speed in which they cannot attack but can be attacked.
We will keep:
- The resources fields will be level 0 in the new village and as compensation, the player has resource piles in the hero inventory.
- Players can only relocate with 1 village.
- 15- and 9-crop fields are excluded from relocation.
There are too many players that have a hard time finding an active team right from the start. That is why we won’t restrict the amount of possible relocations or bind it to the BP.
Our intention is to make the menhir feature a great tool for beginners, veterans and everybody in-between. Its purpose is to find other active players or your friends faster in a game round. Especially new players without a team behind them have only a chance to stay in the game, if they find an active kingdom that will guide them.
Now, it’s your turn. What do you think about this concept? And why? Do you think the area around the WW is too big, too small or the right size? Do you have further questions about the troop movement rules?
We are looking forward to your feedback,
Your Travian Kingdoms Team
