robber hideouts

  • Here is a thing about robber hideouts for def players
at the start its not that hard to kill robbers as a def player with your hero and a little bit off troops, but every day it's harder and harder, so in the late-middle - late game it's not worth to siege robbers and you have to wait until they attack you

so here is suggestion, still everything have to work like it worked but we need just 1 button for let robbers hit you when they spawned, if we don't want use it, still waiting until they want hit us by themselves

45 day in the speed server, all my off troops almost died for 2 hideouts and few camps, i need those rss from robbers, and i can't kill them and i have to wait i guess 2 days before they hit me
before that loss my off army was 10% of all troops, for now it's just 2-3%, another way to fix that problem for def players it's count troops in capital, not in all villages, but still i guess some def players can train troops just in capital, so button would be better

  • I suggest that the player himself can choose which lagars will spawn, i.e. indicates his number of troops that he will send to clean them up and, based on the strength, so that the losses are no more than 10%, the lairs are generated, or the game itself receives data on which the player's village has at most the number of attacking units and, relative to their number, lairs spawn so that losses during the siege do not exceed 10%

  • Haeduans gets job done when sieging in mid/lategame for gauls and is def unit.
Romans do not have def cav. so make Eis or Ecs to siege robbers.
Teutons literally have cheapest and fastest trained off units why not use them?
If u still lose ur troops in robber hideouts/camps that means tou do not have enough troops so make more

  • Tiitana, main point is off and def players not in the same situation, ofc i train some troops, but game push me to waste my training time and rss for units which i don't much need, just for robbers, nothing else. Also loses in hideouts and camps not the same, off player always in better situation.
I understand that community separated players for roles, not a developers, but still if i can see that huge hammers with off troops, as a def player i prefer use rss and training time for def units.

Just for example, what if we change sides and push off players train def units? I guess if we just imagine that here is no multies on servers, off players will have like half of their hammers what we can see right now (because of rss limit and wasting training time for def troops).

    To make it clear
    1) here is not any roles in game
    2) community already separated player on roles, so we have what we have

    3) because of point 1, game push def players train off troops

    4) for def players it's much harder deal with robbers
    5) game should evolve (for example like with travel stones), so if we have this situation with roles, we need make it comfortable for both sides

  • I am mostly a def player. But I ALWAYS train enough troops to siege my robber hideouts. Usually that is about 3k infantry and 2k horses. I prefer haeduans or EC. Those do massive damage to the hideout troops. Once you have that number, just maintain it. Focus the rest of the time on training def. Get a helmet to speed up the infantry training. This gives you the advantages of the treasures and you still get to train your def troops.

  • Neoflex, same thing wrote Tiitana earlier, i guess you didn't read those messages, just one question, when you play as an off player, lets take teuton for example, do you train 3k spears and 2k paladins?
Also just information for thinking, 2k ec its 8k crop per hour and resources for 7.2k praetorians.

Even with those numbers, i just did combat simulation in my camps and hideouts where i lost ~55% of my off troops, with 3k imperians and 2k ec you'll lose ~30%, so you have to rebuild them for ~24 hours. After that i took my next hideout, i suppose you already rebuild army, so now you have 3k and 2k again, and in the next 2 hidouts you lose 15% of those numbers again, so you have to rebuild them for ~12 hours. And guess what, after those 12 free hours you have camps again.

If you can handle the problem, that doesn't mean there is no problem.

    1) True, so why can't you make off troops?
    2) This is team game being solo doesn't get you anywhere and you can't combine off like you do with def, so does it matter?

    3) This is team game being def doesn't mean that u can sim all 5 months.

    4) Make some off 🤔

    5) I'm mainly def player but i still get more res from robbers than i lose in dead troops after i manage to send sieges and i usually get total of ~2k treasures from hideouts/camps/server

Also just information for thinking, 2k ec its 8k crop per hour and resources for 7.2k praetorians.

2k EC is 6k crop/h cause if u go with romans u build HDT and that is around 6 times what pretos have as attack strength and almost 2x def strength at lvl0 smithy upgrades.

i just did combat simulation in my camps and hideouts where i lost ~55%

Just how... Do you have 300k def troops and smithy upgrades at 0 and hero atk bonus at 0%??? :/

To lose 55% of ur troops when sieging you need really strong robber hideout :sus:

  • Tiitana, read my previous comment one more time, 55% FOR CAMPs AND HIDEOUTS, it's my loss for a day, with the same camps and hideouts 3k imperians (which is rly not a good idea for a def player) and 2k ec (not that bad like imperians for def but still not that good) you lose 30%.
    and some comments:
    - i have off troops, this thread not about this
    - i'm not going to build 20 lvl HDT for feed 2k ec
    - ec stats is another story, if you think ec is somehow a def unit, it's your choice

    - about camps and hideouts wrote earlier, but if you can't read carefully i'll write one more time, 55% for few camps and hideouts
    - and yes, i have enough def troops, not 300k ofc, but enough for write here that robbers is too strong for low off armies and i want to use my def troops for this

  • I seen some info in similar thread, where some player wrote that hideouts strength depends on players troops atk, so if this true (i'll msg to support to clear this), just some calculations
50k prets, 5k legions and 2k ec, with this troops you'll have the same robber strength as off player with ~15k imperians and 6k ec, and it's just middle game def troops
so if you take for example 150k prets, 5k leg and 2k ec, it's the same strength as for of player with 35k imperians and 15k ec (but don't forget you have to kill those robbers with 5k legs and 2k ec)

  • Robber hideout strength is definitely related to your off troops strength. That is why hideouts for def gauls training haeduans are usually stronger than hideouts for def gauls training druids. There are some other factors, but later in the game off troop strength is a big factor.

On com1x3 i lose 100-150 swords and 50-100 TT for each robber hideout. So retraining those is not that time-consuming.

  • also guys, this thread not about your own experience and how you kill robbers, it's about button for let robbers atk you when you need.
And some updates, for make it more fair, when you click that button robbers start atk on you with full army, not a half, also while they atk you, you can't just rob hideout, you have to def them first. But idk about rams and catapults, they can be a huge trouble
    Just another idea.

  • I love this thread and the pros and cons.

Personally I feel it is part of the strategic decisions each of us have to do, so I actually don't mind the way it is, but I do understand the petition and the team is going to consider it and see the options.

Thank you very much for the contributions!

  • Robber Hideout OP

    The button would be abused.

I'm thinking a good solution is to have the whole hideout attack the def player and if the player wins deposit the reources in the hero inventory.

But also weaken them a bit at the start, otherwise the offensive player is going to get attacked.

Petition to fix hideouts is underway!

No more toleration of bad game mechanics and nonsense about how we must build offensive troops
    We wont have it! :)
