Suggestions for New Travian Managers

  • like the one whit Hun and Egyptian race, do it at test server, collect data, balance. repeat until ready for non test servers.

    Those two races are already in legends, cant u guys just use their files for the races whit some tweeks to fit more into kingdoms?


    Agreed. Travian Kingdoms started at 2015, and veteran players such as myself are bored doing the same things for 5 years. There has been some special game worlds such as Halloween, which I appreciate the effort. Art work for it such as zombies and night view looked refreshing, but gameplay-wise there was nothing important.


    Adding 2 new tribes on the other hand, brings more variaty and more strategies to the game. I know a lot of friends who would return to the game just to try them out.


    2 new tribes (Huns and Egyptians) are already established in Legends, they are more or less balanced now. Travian Legends and Travian Kingdoms units share the exact same stats of attack, defance, speed, carry capacity and training time. Only difference is unit costs, Kingdoms units cost no crop and slightly less overall. Therefore it is easy to implement them in Kingdoms with some cost adjustments. For example, maceman is proportionally not as cheap compared to other infantry because game worlds finish earlier in Kingdoms, feeding troops is therefore easier which is the disadventage of maceman. Similarly, slave militia cost can be adjusted such that it is not as cheap as it is in Legends. Most other Hun and Egytian unit costs would be fine as they are, if they are scaled down similar to other tribes.


    As a summary, bringing 2 new tribes to life is a lot easier than it sounds.(I am assuming adding code for the new tribes is trivial and bugs can be fixed in future.) It mainly requires 2 things:

    1. Unit costs should be scaled down easily as explained, which can be balanced in later patches if necessary.

    2. New art work for the new tribes.(Buildings, units) Seing what Travian Kingdoms team did with Halloween game worlds, I am confident that they can do this with similar effort. No need to be very creative, as the designs are already there in Legends. They are only needed to be slightly redesigned to fit into Kingdoms art direction.


    I am not hopeful new tribes will arrive before the game is dead, but in my humble opinion this would be worth the investment for the future of the game.

  • I don't think they will do anything about it. The idea of moving buildings in the settlement was 5 years ago. Until today, they have not introduced it.

    Idea to chat with friends in the lobby? At least 2 years ago.


    I don't feel like writing any more ...

  • Well... we are already doing those type of game worlds, we have the Test game worlds that are x5 where you can test new things before they go into the normal game worlds:

    There you have a good overview of what was introduced in each round and what we are testing now in the latest post.


    Please keep giving ideas and between all we can see what is most liked and then in the team we can talk about options and see what can or cannot be implemented depending many different things.


    I like the chat in the lobby, I will revisit that to see what is the score with it.

    I cannot promise it will be tested, but I can assure you that it will be mentioned in the team meetings and who knows, if it is possible...

    1. Grey villages - tere is new topic on the forum, i've posted there what should be added/changed Reinforcing grey villages
    2. Robbers
      1. Hideout - Add timer that will show when they will attack you. Im always wait for that because i don't like waisting my troops on bots, on normal servers there is not to many reoursers from them usuely its for covering your losses, your only profits are stolen goods. Its not a problem when their time of attack was planned out exactly on the night(when you are offilne) because they will just wait for you to be online, but very often that end up that your off troops are raiding or you just send them on the off operation. Speed server are even worse, you can have your whole are ready for them but you left computer for couple of minutes and there is too late, you can't siege them.
      2. Camps - Improve spawnings slots. Thiere always spawn under the newest treasuries even when you have space for them under the old one. Reduce number of them but add more waves so more people can have something from them. Now its looks like that: 10 camps spawn, 3 of them have 5-6 waves the rest of them 2 maybe 3.
    3. Inbound/Outbound troops - Add some filter to that. I don't want to see deff that incoming to me within my 999 returning troops from raids or looking for the attack/reinforcement that i want to cancel between all of that
    4. in game chat
      1. Be able to "click" nickname the person who posted something.
      2. Possibility to assign role. Kings/dukes or the creator of the ss should have that kind of power for example give someone permission to write or lock the topic and you can post only the reports.
      3. Deleting/Editing.

    I've have had more ideas but you always forget about them. But i don't think you have to start new test server for "small" changes like that. You can create server for a week or two just to find if there is no bug. If you want to test something fully let it be worth of that something that will change gameplay like Hun and Egyptian or new building.


    Ps. Maybe new game mode? Server without WW so it will encourage players for more aggressive playstyle.

    I like point 4. As a king, I am terribly irritated by tabs opened accidentally by other players. It makes a mess. And I can't remove it in any way. I fully subscribe to Player's demands.


    What else. For the king and vice of the king there should be an "alarm" that informs you that the duke is collecting tribute and is about to be in full condition. In our country, the Duke writes that he collects ... but before he can fill the tribute, it takes a while. He is forgotten more than once, and then full tribute to him.

    There should be some "Tribute on xxx player getting close" notification.

    It often happens that my vce king writes me a tribute to this duke. I go into tribute and I don't see it. I have to click on F5, only then do I have a full bar. There is also a bug that freezes real-time tribute loading.


    It should also be possible to collect tributes only from the vault with a single button. You can make lines in the Tributes tab.

    Treasury 1 = List of settlements to collect tributes.

    Treasury 2 = List of settlements to collect tributes.
