Imo there should be harsher punishments for game rule violations such as MAing and botting coz they keep doing it and it is new players who suffer most cause of it.

Could you explain these 2 instances in game rules?

    Quote

From game rules §3. Use of external applications

Travian Kingdoms must be played using the official Travian Kingdoms app or an unmodified, conventional browser. Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera, Internet Explorer 10 and above are all supported, excluding any alpha and beta versions. Moreover, Travian Kingdoms does not support any third-party mobile application.

According to this players can't have any add-ons in their "conventional" browser such as colour theme and ad blocker(I have adblocker 👀(waiting for my punishment)). And if they have some add-on they could be banned whenever multihunter/CRS feels like it?

    Quote

    From game rules §7. Punishments

Multi-accounts on the speed server and/or with a population lower than 100 may be deleted without a ban/warning.

Does this mean that if someone get s his MA over 100pop it won't be deleted without ban/warning? Why is this sentence even in there? So in normal server it is ok to make MA's?

  • Sadly, won't happen. Full, permanent expulsion of an account from the server means one less potential gold buyer, and that is not something they will do in a game that is only active because the income from gold sales is still in positive vs costs of upkeep/management. And if you want someone to actually hunt cheaters/bots, you have to pay them, which is obviously not an option as we can see for more then two years now.

On a properly supported game with an active development team, this would have been done automatically. Here, however....

  • Well... we have a new CSR taking care of the reports she receives... I do hope there is some improvement on this front.

I am not going to say our tools are perfect, and that we are... I do believe we have a lot to do in this particular front...

Probably some of the things I would personally like to do simply we cannot and have to adapt to the circumstances and understanding a bit more our players.

In my opinion, one thing we have to do is always try to educate players, give a second chance before been too harsh, and if unrepentant, then strike.

Tiitana I do have ad-blockers on my browser as well... it has never presented an issue for me playing. Those are not the tools the rule refers to.

Regarding MAs, no, it is not OK, but obviously when they are between those parameters the owner of the avatar could find it gone without any explanation.

  • In this cases I can only ask that you report them, as it will be investigated and dealt with based on the information the CSR gets in her investigations.

quoting this from somewhere else, I think here is better place to discuss

    2 more problems,

First: Player X creates 20 accounts and feeds himself and more 3 people, after investigation if we were lucky enough only X is the guy who violated rules, and gets a short ban. while the other 3 are enjoying!

Second: the punishment is so small, after 1 day, and a 10% punishment or 1 level building drop, the cheater is still too powerful.

Changing CSR doesn't change these, anyone on this job will do the same unless TG change their rules.

I suggest never unban the player who is banned for MA for second time in their life, and please remove them sooner from map. sometimes banned players blocking tiles, oasis, ... for no real reason.

All other problems like the Menhir topic are made of MAs, if you solve the MA, Menhir abuse solves too.

  • I understand totally what you are implying, not sure about what happened in the cases you mention, but I do get that you want harsher punishments.

It will be discussed and there are good reasons why having those harsher punishments. It is not easy, since we prefer to re-educate and gain a player to the cause rather than kick players away from the game, but I do know there is a need to eliminate cheating from the game worlds and I do support that fact fully.

    Thank you very much!

  • how about allowing registration of account as multi requiring 100 to 1,000 gold to register on a new server round where it doubles for every other account added just to allow how many accounts can play on 1 computer.

In this manner, these multi players are supporting everyone to enjoy servers by paying up for maintaining.

Still having multi's is unfair or unfairly enjoyable.

  • I personally feel that would not be a good system... we have to have a level playing field for everyone... I don't know what the rest of the community feels, I hope you participate and tell us what you think.

But I personally would not like that the be a gold v no gold players that can do multis.

What does everyone think about it?

  • A permanent ban is impossible to apply in a game with so few players, from what I have seen in recent years I can say that at least 80% have had or tried a multi, you risk having to close the game ahead of time.

On more severe punishments, I completely agree, for example as long as a player caught cheating is not deleted by the server but is allowed to continue and almost always starts cheating again?

    This ↑
I agree that perma bans are a little over kill with player base as big as TKs but why would you let them continue playing in that server where they cheated, just kick them out so they learn that they can't keep their achieved advantage that they got while cheating as that 25% pop and troop loss do not matter much in early game where ppl are burning money just to get good cropper for example.

  • 1. Track the multies for at the very least a couple of days, preferrably a week to gather evidence to figure out the perpetrators behind them. Who do they trade, who do they send their def to, who do they get raided by (is it just 1 person or is it several people?) and is that player raiding them getting raided by someone else? Where do the value of the account end up? That's the guy you need to ban. The multies are replaceable, the main account is not. It might seem like this is more work than just banning them on the spot, but trust me when I say that these are the same people doing it over and over again because it works, and it works really really well.

    2. Ban the avatar, not the account on just 1 gameworld. Ban them on every gameworld and force them to either stop playing or make a new character with 0 prestige. This way we will know which players are the scum and which players actually deserve the prestige they possess.

While I feel its a bit harsh, I really think its necessary. It really sucks that there is no good solution to handle the damage done by a multi. If they are not caught by day 30 or 60, they very well could of used their advantage to make dozens of players quit who would of had a fighting chance otherwise. Those players wont come back. Period. I know farming, raiding, looting and burning down those who stand in your way is part of the game. But people need a fighting chance. I don't think travian understands how much they are loosening in the long run because of kingdoms of 60 people, who run 200-300 accounts.

  • The punishment for multies is at this moment the same for lets say Day 1 vs Day 50. Using multies now results in a pop penalty which is build back in 1h and the advantage gained by multies is lasting for 56 minimum.

So i dare to say that early stage cheating is profitable, it should changed but instead of really taking on the cheaters the rounds get influenced by it.
