How to deal with traitors

  • This has been part of the game, taken there is SS (secret society) and sitters/duals, and made this very game somehow realistic.
And to some, this game is seriously closer as real, closer than the "Among Us" game.

Just to spoil, people are able to bring out their Machiavellian. Enjoyable.

On the other side, players lose interest playing after a betrayal: deleting account, withdrawing gold from server.

Can be not so inviting to have other's playing too.

Somehow there should be like a 'warning' sign (diasclaimer) right in everyone's faces that this game is indeed is "that".

Let this thread serve to balance betrayals versus trust and lead to further enjoyment of the game.
You can report players you know has reputation doing this or form a "Police" kingdom, anything here please...

  • Capfan on Com5 defected to the enemy without notice, gave info, attacked friendlies and took massive reins for the inevitable attack. Resulted in several deletions.

3ctze on Com5 sold out his Kingdom (as Vice King) and gave all Gettertool info to another top kingdom. Organized an attack with that Kingdom and planned to send out all reinforcements before attack landed to give away treasures. Then went on a rampage attacking friendlies, caused over a dozen players to delete.

Cerberus Kingdom frequently uses spies in other kingdoms. No13 Kingdom as well. Both on Com5 currently. Both use these spies as a means to infiltrate, steal knowledge and launch attacks on smaller players to cause deletion. They virtually never attack a strong player with this information.

There is a difference between intentionally using spies as part of a pre planned strategy approach in comparison with accepting information from players that reach out to us offering information for free while we had no previous communication with them. Do not accuse Cerberus for such cases. Search internally to find the reason people turned their back to you. Cerberus or as previously known, Phoenix and even earlier Bandits, never used spies. Two things we don't like. Using spies and spiking greys, which by the way your team loves doing.

There is no ability to make everyone happy. There will ALWAYS be players that either don't play well with others or that just have a bad RL day and bring it into the game for no real justified reason.

As an opposition leader, you have the CHOICE to use those situations to exploit against your enemies or not. If you choose to exploit that situation, you are enabling Traitors. Which is what this thread is discussing.

If you choose to lay with dogs, don't be upset when you are covered with fleas.

  • You seem to luck understanding of the fundamentals of this game. Bringing your mood on a bad or good day into the game is actually fun for the game. It creates "situations". Otherwise we should play a simulator with no emotions, or simply put, single player games. If you chose to play games like TK you are supposed to welcome those situation caused by emotions either if they are in favor or against you at a given time. As previously said there is a difference between intentionally using spies as part of a pre planned strategy approach in comparison with accepting information from players willing to share for their own damn reasons. And even though our team is not using spies as a strategy, spies should also be welcomed in the game. It's a strategy happening since for ever in every aspect of any warfare throughout centuries. And TK is all bout war.

PS. If such a case lead your team in current COM5 (twice) on losing troops while attacking recklessly find a way to control your emotions better next time. Or find better leadership able to apply anger management. Don't just ask for a crucial part of warfare to be removed because you don't like it.

You talk like you're an extremely honorable person, but yet you're throwing out allegations with no evidence, leaving out important details, twisting peoples words, and dragging other peoples names through the dirt. First this, and then lying to your kingdom that we attacked you to take advantage of an enemy king dying in real life. Anybody with a sliver of intelligence about this game can look at when we found out about that, when our attacks were launched, and how long it takes to plan something like would know that's not possible. Even your other leaders have already acknowledged this fact.

I'm not really familiar with what happened to 3ctze so I can't speak to that. I'm also not in Cerberus so I can't speak to their actions either.

As for "No13 Kingdom as well" (frequently using spies), No13 hasn't attempted to plant any spies on com5, and since this is their first real server together, they've never done so. Nobody had any contact with Capfan until after he had left 404 and then he reached out to us (I think spies and traitors fall into two different categories which i'll get into). As for "They virtually never attack strong player with this information", we have only had 2 organized attacks against you and both have been on your duke or queen so not sure where that is coming from at all. The only information we've ever used to plan attacks against you are from scoutings or previous battle reports.

Personally, I think spies are an important and interesting part of the game and makes it feel more realistic like Lestat said, but I wouldn't try and plant one. I know the leaders in No 13 feel the same way. They have directly communicated this to myself and the other members.

I think taking advantage of traitors is a bit of grey area and while I'm still not a huge fan, personally I am more comfortable with this than using spies. Traitors are typically caused by a failure in leadership, as was the case with Capfan. While I don't deny that what he did was rash and a huge overreaction, it was ultimately caused by a failure in leadership (and not just due to a one of communication failure between a couple leaders). When you say that Capfan "took massive reins for the inevitable attack", you also forgot to mention the part where your own duke told him 24 HOURS BEFORE ATTACKING that he was going to siege him and to load up on defense from No13 and Cerberus. You forgot to mention how that same duke was telling Capfan how people that did what he did are killed in his country. You forgot to mention the part where you told Capfan that his actions will lead to people abusing their children. Where is the honor in that?

It's one thing if you want to talk about the use of spies/traitors generally in the game, or even accuse specific players and kingdoms of things if you can actually back up those accusations, but don't come on here to trash other people if you can't actually back it up. I'm happy to do this for anything I've said, and would love to see any such evidence to back up your accusations so I know if I need to find a new kingdom :)

  • Hello boys and girls.

First I think you all are commenting in the wrong thread. We have one specific in Com5 embassy.

Second, be carefull when talk about 404error leadership.

I can have dukes, but they not represent 404error or are leaders, unfortunately some have just a title.

We also are the first server together and we wont have another!!!!!

Capfan situation was a internal problem, that became public.

Me and him personally talk and solved.

    He was not a spy.

He made a bad move based in lack of communication but nothing justify his attacks in his own mates.

When he changed side was difficult for me because we were real life friends.

N.13 just take advantage of a situation. As Sacth my ex-dual did when defend Wolfpack. Who was right? Both sides saw a opportunity to kill emenies hammers. Despite my personal reproval in both situations.

And I agree with you Appa, Raskha statement was very stupid and unnecessary, but he paid his price.

I also personally dont believed they knew about Nagizopen death.

They discovered after the launch the real attacks and an off plan is always made in advance.

However, could they stooped? Maybe, but not without damage for both sides.

Was definitely a bad timing, a bad day for all of us.

I lost my village.. and what? I lost friend!

I dont like spies and I had big fights about this subject in the begging of the server with some players who wanted play like that.

Now about 3ctze situation. He betrayed his own Kingdom, this is a fact.

Kings and Vice kings think treasuries belongs to them. NO. They belong to governos who died, fought, expend time and money in their games. So only them could make decisions about where they should go.

COM5 represents the year of 2020.

Was a terrible server for all players.

Be like WATER , just go with the flow.

  • How to deal with traitors? Live with it. You cant change anything. Same with people who are toxic as fk. Thats 2020, deal with it or go down with it. Just shut down your brain and dont think about it. Its just a game :-) As long as you and your family are healthy, give a sht about that. Everybody have a good start to the new year
