At least there was a chance to track dawn spiker and pay visit to him with catas. Now spikers make that game unplayable for any farmers.

Now cowards apparently like you, too afraid to start a war, so hiding behind not very smart idea happy that no one can trace them down.

Why would I start a war when I can kill your troops and lose 99% less than what I'll lose in a real fight?
You say spiker can see attacker and attacker can't see spiker. That's technically true, but what if spiker puts 2k troops in a grey village, and you attack it? The spiker doesn't know the village is getting attacked and if its a raid or a siege or an attack, so the spiker can lose a lot as well.
You are just mad because you can afk farm; you should look for some bots to do the work for you.

How am I supposed as a deff player to start a war? Most of the time deff players individually spike greys, its not a kingdom thing.
You say I've got no idea how top farmers farm, and maybe I don't, but if only part of farmed resources comes from farmlists, why do you even use farmlists? You're losing more than winning. Just continue with farming actives and get your big portion of resources.
And to be honest, your whole freaking argument here is " Oh woe is me deff players spike greys and their cowards its so unfair."
I don't have problems spiking villages even if it shows my deff points because I'm not scared of people like you who think they can just destroy anyone. Would you waste your troops on a far away spiking kingdom instead of on the enemy right beside you?
If you want, you can tell me where you play and I'll come spike some greys near you, just for fun, ok?

Try not to let them bother you, adjust your strategy if you must.
But don't waste your time with talking to them - it will only encourage the behavior.
They will never accomplish anything respectable with their strategy and they probably only do it because they can't compete with the others.

Well, it is an old saying that the game is really won by defensive players... the ones that manage to defend against the big hammers and manage to stop loosing any treasures or VPs.
Same with the WW, the ones that manage to get theirs ahead for the best bonuses and manage to keep it there with good defense.
So, defensive players are needed in every kingdom to survive.
Regarding the defensive points, it was decided after long conversations with the communities and the players.
In war there are a lot of strategies that may not be liked, like for example spying in a kingdom for another one, but, they exist and is part of the politics of the game.
Guerrilla warfare, as well, is part of the normal war. In this case, defending inactive players to make it harder for offensive players is that guerrilla warfare and sometimes it is very effective. That means that the hammers you are going to face in the WW or in the treasuries are smaller.
So we may like or not like some of those (and others that there are) strategies, but they are very valid ones. Yes, it means you have to be more careful with your raids, but then again, it would be less fun not to have it in the game.
It is all about the thrill of not knowing if it is going to pan out as we planned and adapt to the circumstances, instead of just clicking and clicking knowing the end result beforehand.

If there was no spiking, we could send clubswingers every minute to the farm villages.
I'm sure some nerds would do it, with their bots or mouse-auto-scripts or even manually.

Every action should have a counter to it. If someone is spiking farms we have a right to know so we can deal with them. If they are strong enough to have a defense that it's not worth attacking them, then fair play to them spiking. But letting these barely active players that sign on once a day throw 50 spears into a grey with no consequence is dumb. Why would you punish active play with inactive play?

This is where you're wrong.
Farming grey's isn't being active. It's clicking a button every 5, 10, 20, 30 or 60 minutes to send 100 attack. That's not being active. Being active is scouting villages before attacking them. You are more than welcome to scout all the grey's before attacking them, now that would be active.

Then you have to figure out how many troops to send to be optimal, and if it's worth any losses you might get due to residence/palace. Then you have to decide if it's wroth it to destroy the residence/palace if your losing troops (Which you may need to scout first to find out which one it is, so you don't destroy a warehouse or resource fields). Sure you can select every village and send 5 troops to each, but it's possible to end up with more losses than gains. Granted later on in a server it becomes less of an issue, early on it's important.

So basically, if you want to maximize your farming gains, you need to consider the fact that people spike. Makes you mad? Stop farming, because people aren't going to stop spiking.

You're right about the last statement. Teutons don't really care about losing a few clubs.
I think the reason that deff points were removed from deffending an inactive village because people thought it was unfair people were getting deff points by being 'cowards' as the OP described it, and getting top 10 defender medals while not deserving them

That is exactly what is all about, this is a war strategy game.
What you are complaining about doing is what others enjoy the most, what they come to Kingdoms to do. Investigate possible targets, choose the best ones, decide what to use to get the best possible outcome...
To me it sounds like the essence of Kingdoms game play. Aside from the most important part, the people we meet and get to know and the relationships that form thanks to Kingdoms, in my opinion, that is the best part of the game.
