Cooked troops counter

  • Hi,

as an offensive player, you can measure your size by your hammer size.
as defender its much more complicated, because def units die along the way and so on. So there is no actual way to calculate who cooks more defensive units in a server.

Is it possible to add some trained units counter in some personal statistics page? I dont think it would be too complicated, but as defensive player it would allow players to measure who cooked more def units.
Secret society was another option, but its buggy as hell as "Troops died defending" are always not adding correctly , so the amount gets lost .

  • PaultheGaul I am going to simply ignore your comment, I guess you are not up to date with the happenings in the test game round where we are testing big improvements requested by the community. I suggest you read here please:

Testing game version 0.101 – vacation mode + menhir

Saying what you said when we are in the biggest advancement in the direction of what the community requested in a very long time... I guess you simply are not up to date with things.

    So, back to topic.

Ok, so if I get it right, you want an achievement of xxx amount of troops trained, is that right?

And have several stages of such achievement depending on the amount of troops trained, right?

Is this achievement request limited to a single game round, or an achievement that would keep on adding the troops trained in different rounds?

Would anyone else think about it, do you think it would add something extra to the game?

  • Either simple new tab in statistics as "personal statistics" and you add trained troops counter, maybe think of some other things.
Or simply adding further achievement of trained troops in game (not overall achievement like Gaul/Roman/Teuton commander).

The first option would be more accurate, because you would see for exact number of phalanx, swords, druids and headun trained instead of counting it as "1 unit" in achievement or quest.

  • I'm glad that this idea has come back again. It's something that I've always thought would be interesting.

We talked about it here a long time ago (January :D ).
    Troop count

I like that idea of a "personal" stats tab. Originally, I thought it would fit good into the World Statistics. I know that the question will come up about "total" or "by city" and I think that a "totals" tab, but with a breakdown of each troop type would be nice.

  • I think the idea is something like this. An achivment is not useful, once completed would be useless, and a quest would not give you details but just a total counter.

Instead, by adding such a row you would have no troubles in tracking your advancement. And a nice addition would be as in the image the record for the maximum troops alive ever reached.

The first option is the best idea... counting every each troop u build is just too good :) But if it's hard a task for devs I would be happy with the new achievement too...

  • Since when does making a lot of phalanxes as a gaul makes you skilled?
You just spend crazy amounts of money for culture points, don't even wait for resource fields to finish, skip everything with gold and then you have good amount of phalanxes.
Does that make you skilled? Think again.
+ This feature will not improve the game play, at all.

I've played both roles, If I need 1200 gold to play as an offensive player, I need like 12000 gold to play as a defensive player to catch up with ''big deffer bois''.

So I dislike the idea, there is nothing to brag about how many troops you cooked as a defense player.
Altough, they can add ''how much gold I spent'' counter, which would show you are just nothing but a spoiled rich deffer.

Trajectories aren't linear. Life's just a roller coaster. If you're getting a chance to do cool stuff, and it's varied stuff, just enjoy it. I guess I'm a believer in the randomness of life rather than it being a linear trajectory or an arc, a consistent smooth arc, towards anything.

  • Oh yes, people love to brag about that :) Even players who don't spend that much like to brag about it. Thinking that only gold makes you a good defender is such a bad opinion, you clearly don't know enough people... You actually need 7 villages, c6 capital, 1k gold and you will end in the top 10 defenders like nothing if you know what to do.

This feature will most certainly improve the fun part of the game. People just love to have more troops than the others.

I ended rounds as #2 and #4 deffer as a governor with 0 gold.
So I do not need to know better, thanks.

Deff is huge pay to win in this game, nothing would change my mind.
+ Having great amount of troops does not still make you a ''great deffer''
QWR is a good example to these type of players, over 900k+ troops yet don't know what to do.

Even so if that is case... this update wont hurt anybody and will only benefit all :) Also i dont personally take speeds seriously so... :D

    Maybe you are right...

I need QWR to train phalanxes and set me as a sitter, So I can use the deff with logic.

Imo.. and I can tell that would happen.. you clearly had more def points than all gold players on the server, I don't know speed measures but that's quite remarkable, maybe u were just in a good place with your army but still I can imagine FTP players brag about cooked troops either :D And if not, after all, def points is what matters most - who cares about troops cooked when u cant use them.

See DarkSke's deff pts, its not posibble to have 2m deff,
But with logical defending it is posibble to achieve deff points.
And developers already made a feature to show deff points, so what.
Well one would argue that.... ''uuuuh i had so much leftoever deff bla bla''
    Well, you should've used them,then.

Exactly.. arguing with leftovers - who cares :D
I would like to have as many def points as possible and be able to see how many of each kind of troop I trained at the end of the server at least tho. It's not hard to implement this into the game I am sure of that.
