Create ability to Hide/Show Troops that You Do Not Want To Build

  • can we use the "Click and Drop" method. Such as, Click the Legionnaire and Drop onto the Imperian. As such, it will recalculate the resource to build the Imperian.

Otherwise, could have a feature to manually disable / enable the troop for building. for example, an offense village, I might not require to build the defense troops. This would help to resolve the problem.

  • How would this function with the troop quests? Can you just build and cancel until you have the 100k troop quest done?

Also, how would the troop reallocation work with the different units costing different amounts of resources? Will you get awareded back the difference, and if so, if you switch back again would you be able to use the resources you got back to queue new units, then cancelling again moving you along the troop quests?

If reallocation does not give back resources, will these resources be lost then? Or will the total amount of resources spent on building 1 unit type be converted into resources used to build another unit type? Could this lead to you just building the unit you can sink the most resources into then switch to the one you intended to build, more or less giving you a free NPC trade?

There seems to be some underlying issues with this concept as the game functions today, so I doubt it's going to be implemented, and if it is then it will break the game even further than it already is.

You're reading this. Think about it.

This would be an option. Canceling troop orders is bad though, just breaks the resource saving mechanics (e.g. from attacks).

I'm replying on this thread because I do not want the travian team to lose sight of this - I know that canceling a troop production that is already in process messes with multiple game mechanics, but being able to hide certain units from the barracks/stable/workshop so that you cannot accidently queue the wrong unit would be huge.

This is especially critical with regards to units that do not require research in the academy, like the first foot soldier of each tribe (maceman, legionnaire, phalanx).

I have found that the queue, if it is currently active, puts the units in order left to right by build order, which is helpful.

Unfortunately when building spears over maceman, the spearman is on the left side, but when no queue of spearman exists, however, the spearman is to the right of the maceman, which can cause many human errors when people have muscle memory that spears are in a specific location on the screen, you know?

Personally, I make more mistakes when I'm cycling through multiple villages to queue troops because I am moving quickly, it would just be nice to see only the one (or two) troop types that I want to build at that specific building, and have the ability to hide or show all available troop types depending on our preferences.

  • Should Travian Team Add the Ability to Hide/Show specific Units from a Village/City's Troop Training Buildings? 13

    1. Yes, the Travi Team should add this ability (10) 77%
    2. No, the Travi Team should not add this ability (3) 23%

    What are everyone's thoughts?

  • I must admit it has happened to me too... wanting to create Praetorians and ending up with a bunch of Legionaries...

I do see the benefit fo it, hiding the troops you don't want to train at all is a very good help to avoid those mistakes, isn't it?

What does anyone else thinks about it?

PS: I have merged 2 threads that touched on the same points.

The other point was cancelling troops production, that was already suggested in the past, but it was decided that it would not help game play, since many would use that feature to avoid raids... so spend all resources in troop production before an attack, stop the production after the attack. So it was decided that it would not be convenient to introduce that feature at this time.

  • Yea, sounds good, for everyone, If you want to train only ECs then you will hide scouts and EIs, if in the future you would want to train scout you will just pop them up, train some, and hide them again. The same can go for Academy and Smithy, noone wants to missclick and waste resources..
