Why is the game dead?

  • Your home boi unknown literally coming to his personal roast with a smile on his lips saying "thank you for all that feedback i love reading how everyone shittalks me" x D While arguing how displaying 1 extra icon for tier X items and changing 1 single text color is development work. Nice, havent had this hard of a laugh for a while.

  • When players sign in to a world, they could be grouped by experience. Experienced players are placed together with more croppers (to prevent constantly signing up to be "inexperienced"), while less experienced people are placed further away.

New NPCs could be added to provide farming income. This could also promote more mid-game fighting if done right. Maybe an NPC could be persuaded to join a kingdom (provide income to its players) and has to be defended and can be fought for. These grow relative to surrounding kingdom sizes.

Forcing smaller kingdoms and more kingdoms.

I would personally enjoy if servers were longer. It makes mistakes and a strong start less problematic. But growth would have to become more logarithmic vs exponential, which it is now. Now, if you don't join within a week of start it becomes almost not worth it.

Incorporate external tools into the game. Getter and kirilloid are used often. Why do are these not added to the game? Where they can be further enhanced?

I would also really enjoy seeing variety between servers. Add twists. I don't mean a new color scheme or masks. I mean fundamental things that change strategy that aren't expected. Dry crop was nice. What if within a server, suddenly a bad winter struck and crop became rare? Or what if a monsoon hit and suddenly merchants and troops were suddenly twice as slow? Some creativity by developers. Don't let the game become formulaic. People like the strategy part. Force people to react.

The point players are making when they say the game isn't improving is that it has been static and feels like a slow death from years ago. I've played since T3 and don't know how you can't say the game is dying. There are no new and innovative changes. It's incredibly buggy. The features that are added rarely work well.

  • maybe they have been busy trying to fix all the abuse issues that certain people/teams created :P

it's been a couple of years since the last changes I agree, but since then so much abuse has happened with the features they introduced, it makes you question what will happen if they spend time doing so again ....?

I wish people would stop with it all tbh, I'm not sure any new player would be tempted into the game with all the back handed comments people feel the need to throw around atm

they were busy setting up a new gold shop and new hats to make you pay more.

And you continue to defend these incompetent managers. Who are just trying to distract your attention here.

  • they were busy setting up a new gold shop and new hats to make you pay more.

And you continue to defend these incompetent managers. Who are just trying to distract your attention here.

News for you the gold shop has been around for years, sure, it got added to test servers for those that want it there, but you still get the free gold every week happening on test, if you're good enough you can easily get by with the amount you receive for free.

I am fully competent at knowing who I'd like to support thanks :)

for me it's simple, I'd rather have an old game that everyone plays as intended than have a load of new stuff thrown at it to further be abused.

(I mean who wouldn't want to play a T3.6 server again if they activated one)

lets start stop the trash eh, if we are to attract new players, they need to know what keeps us still logging in each day after all these years, if it was so bad you would just walk away & stop posting ;)

  • they were busy setting up a new gold shop and new hats to make you pay more.

And you continue to defend these incompetent managers. Who are just trying to distract your attention here.

They should add many more hats, beards, clothes, paintjobs on armor / weapon and silly gimics. Those don't influence the real game we all play, but they do support the servers and devs.

What needs to be done is a new multihunter system. The days of IP checking are over. There are many other ways to prevent bots / scripters / cheaters these days.

  • Let me explain in detail for the last time why the game died. As someone who writes here, let me state that I haven't played the game for 1.5 years, but if your game is better in the future, I would love to play again. Most likely, the administrators will ignore my writing by saying that it is someone who criticizes again and will thank me for the feedback. Because the most important problem is that they start to ignore the criticism.

Let me first start with why Jak's thinking was wrong. I will tell you three games that are popular right now, with their mistakes. League of Legends is the most popular MOBA and the game has "scripts". These scripts provide the characters to move automatically, use abilities and dodge the character and of course these are illegal. These scripts are banned from time to time, players write new ones and they are banned when they are noticed. Valorant is the most popular FPS game in the last 1 year. There are "cheats" in this game that allow your bullet to find the opponent, or allow you to see directly behind the walls. But RiotGames notice these and remove them from the game as soon as possible, suing their producers. New World is the most popular MMORPG in the last 1 month. There are a lot of "bugs" in the game, and players abusing them. They bring updates to the game every week, they remove these bugs, new bugs appear, we know that they will remove them next week. The common thing in these three games is that there are often mistakes in the games and there are players who abuse these mistakes. But everyone knows that they will fix them. Does this apply to Travian Kingdoms? Unfortunately, the players have no faith left. If you ask what is the reason for this, the primary reason is that the administrators are no longer as enthusiastic as they used to be. I'm not saying fire them all, but now the roles need to change and new people need to be hired. We need new administors who are enthusiastic, energetic, and most importantly open to criticism and will consider all criticism. Me and my team made a request 3 years ago, with the necessary explanations, for a night truce TR server to be opened without night truce and and a COM game world that will open after 2 months will open after 1 month. BridgetB listened to the players many times, changed the server date and server type for them many times. But now we realize that she hasn't taken the players seriously since 2 years. For example, everyone says that COM CSR BlackSwan is a little more tolerant of Russian players. Maybe right, maybe wrong. We look at the work done by BlackSwan, Travian Kingdoms Russian CM, Travian Kingdoms COM CSR, Travian Legends RUS CSR and Travian Legends ex-Russian CM. Why are so many tasks assigned to one person? She is also a human, she has worked on Russian servers for 6 years, and why COM CSR alone when she already has so many tasks? We can ask many questions like this. In the past, Georgi was both a COM CM and a COM CSR. It was also wrong, one person cannot do two big jobs. These are management mistakes.

An innovation has exploitable features or contains bugs. Why does this take months or even years to resolve? Let's consider two big problems right away. Menhir and rally points. They use Menhir both to teleport army villages to the opponent's border, and by opening a kingdom, teleporting multi accounts to that kingdom and looting them. You can think of a solution to this and try it in the nearest TEST. If it works it will be added to the game, if it doesn't it won't be added to the game. But even the use of TEST is wrong. You even open the TEST server almost every month and make it your first goal to earn gold from the players. The TEST server is not a competition server, it is a server used only for Testing and everyone who plays on this server accepts and plays. But if you even think about making money from this server, players will start to believe that there is no testing.

The bug of rally point is the funniest. Players could see the codes of the rally point and from these codes they could see the military type of attack, the target building that military type wanted to hit. It was used for 3 or 4 years because only a certain group of players knew and used it. Then when this came out, the administrators said they fixed the problem. Information from a secondary person that this bug is still being used. Some players can still access the codes and notice the attacks. The problem is that the people who do it are very cautious this time and don't want their actions to be revealed. Here, too, the job falls to the administrators. Your controller should know that these codes are still not secret and should come up with a solution. Again, will it be tolerated for years just because a certain group knows and uses it ? (Unknown will come and say that those who know how to do it should contact us, but the point is that those who do, want it to be kept secret and it is YOUR MISSION to find out how it is done!)

Let's come to the mistakes of the system. A player suspects a player, reports it, and whenever the CSR team cares, they simply do a couple of "fixed" checks and move on. If you ask what is the reason for this, it is very obvious, the person doing this job is BlackSwan for COM now and he has been doing this job for 6 years. Now she is bored and does not check certain things and do no detailed research. This is valid not only for BlackSwan, but also for local servers. As I have said many times, if a leaf moves in your village, they may notice it, but they do not want to do it. The biggest reason is that they are not enthusiastic about doing it. The second biggest reason is what current administration wants is not to offend the players and to allow them to break the rules once in a while. They are afraid that if they bore the players too much, they will run away. But they are not aware that other players are running away from the game because they condone cheaters. This system should be completely changed, teams that will examine the tickets in detail should be appointed and when players are found guilty, someone should explain the reason. This is one of the funniest things. They do not reveal your guilt and its evidence. Now you will say that the criminal should already be punished. This is not always the case. Let me tell you about an experience I had myself.

    - At the time, Georgi was on duty, and I was playing in the COM3 game world. Jak and her kingdom BM was also our rivals. We launched an offensive operation against a less experienced kingdom called Paragon, so for a little fun I took 50 villages of that kingdom on my loot list and sent 2 soldiers each. I ran this loot list twice. The next day my account was locked from using scripts. Since I don't use scripts, it wasn't too late for me to understand why. Because Paragon players are inexperienced, they said it was a script, he attacked us at the same time, so my account was locked without being investigated. But I couldn't reach Georgi through the ticket for 3 days, he was not responding to me. Lastly, I asked the TR GM for his e-mail and wrote from there and was able to reach him. I told him his mistake and my account was locked for 3 days unjustly, ahh of course they gave me 50 gold :) -

I am aware that what I write will not go unnoticed and nothing will change. Just wanted to remind you again what the issues were and why the game died. It would be nice if they at least reached out to a lot of people and knew what kind of dump we were in. The thing that would surprise me the most would be that the management reads the criticisms, realizes the mistakes and makes changes, but the future answer is obvious, thanks for your feedback ...

Have fun, and don't forget to buy more gold. There will be worse management and worse servers with your gold :)

  • let me summarize:

LoveGood loves the game and would love to play again
Even though his past posts have wanted us to turn against TG for whatever reason I'm not sure

He is busy playing other games, but still has passion for this one & yet doesn't play it because it gets too abused, but lets not forget he'd love to play again, so maybe these other games aren't a patch on Travian afterall

He blames the Forum Admins even though bug fixing & exploit abuse isn't part of their Job Description & never will be.

He returns after more than a year & claims to be up to speed with everything that's happening, but I think really he is just here to fan the flames.

His team has been known to use certain exploits & he chose to turn a blind eye, which "in my view" as a Leader he really should never have tolerated.

Lets not forget he is right & I am wrong, but then we (BM) always had a higher moral code & I kinda lost faith in "his written word" a long time ago ... :S so reversi in my eyes I am right & he is Wrong :P

Now whilst I admit a lot of improvements still need to happen from TK's end, a lot has started happening in these past couple of months too.

(please Devs continue the good work on this & keep fixing the bugs & exploits to give us more stability in-game)

I also stand by my views that we, the gamers, as a community also have our part to play in this too. It's fine to be vocal, but lets remember the things we write here will be read by those currently playing travian & those "thinking about" playing travian too.

    There is a saying .....

"if you enjoy what we do tell others, if you hate it tell us"

i.e. If you're happy post it here on the forums for all to see, If you're really unhappy, then deal with it in private, direct with the "Help Centre" so that they can direct your concerns to the right people.

    Thanks for reading

    Jak :)

  • I talked about the change of all employees and BridgetB comes first among them. You don't think that BridgetB isn't a forum moderator. The only person whose task is the forum is Unknown, and he is only tasked with saying the sentence that is instructed to him. "Thanks for your feedback." There is no place I blame him, I just want people who say tolerate cheaters change.

Other than that, a few of my players may have been banned for using scripts, but no one said that I allowed them, each player is responsible for their own account. At that time, I said that I did not defend a banned player, he used a cheat and was punished. Anyway, I touched the subject for the last time. I do not intend to offend anyone. If you are happy with our great developers and managers, you can continue on your way. I just put forward a few unknown facts and yes your lovely TravianGames tolerantes cheaters, sad but fact :(

Also, do you believe that the errors and deficiencies are corrected when you convey them to someone privately? Even the biggest companies in the world do not fix their mistakes when there is no twitter agenda. If we are not going to share these errors on the forum, let's not hope for them to be fixed.

Let's reduce free gold for Bbash and generate new gold packs. Let's not do TravianPlus for X1 throughout the entire server, it reduces our revenue. Get TravianPlus weekly for X1 now.

  • First of all, mehnirs shouldn't exist ! Severe punishments to multi users not just 25% ... . If someone gets caught with multi the ban should be permanent. We need more crops (Good crops) Kings and dukes get way to many resources compared to govs that lose troops all the time on hideouts and kings dont. as king i ve made 700k phax as gov i can t .. For new players ? there's nothing you can actually do.. people must learn with experience why do new players leave or get smashed all the time ? i am myself a gold buyer and i can tell you that a non gold user wont stand a chance with someone that uses gold.

Anyway the most importat way to improve the game its when you guys BAN someone they are supposed to stay Banned ! and there's alot of people that never get caught and those that get they dont care because the 20 multis they had will compensate the 25% punishment by 1000% so that will never stop untill the BANS are not permanent .

Kingdom players limitation wont help in anything you can just do the many wings you want. we need larger maps makes no sense i can reach the other side of the map in less than 50 min with my TT. Larger maps, more resources for govs, more crops. and Permanent bans

  • LovëGood I do appreciate your comments, as I was reading several of your posts I was feeling the need to edit them, as in some you could have been slightly more polite, let's say.

But, I decided to leave them and just answer you.

Yes, I am not going to come and say things are perfect, they are not, and we need to improve a lot of things, but I want you to understand that we are on it.

My job is not to come here and thank you, I do that because I am polite and I really appreciate the help and content of your comments, even if they could be delivered in some nicer way.

But, I want you to know that my job is to represent Kingdoms before the community, and, more importantly, and that is why I leave it for the end, to fight for what the community needs in the team.

We may or may not get some things in the time frame we would wish.

But I can assure you that internally we will always do our best for the community.

In the later months we have managed some nice important advances.

We keep advancing and improving the game. That is the important thing to remember, yes, slower than we all may wish, but we keep at it improving and fixing bugs, exploits etc.

There is a huge work behind the scenes and believe me, the comments in this thread will be discussed in the team and we will do our best to drive your points in future decisions.

Sometimes things will be as you wish, sometimes it will not, but your comments will always be considered.

leo#EN(19) I didn't want to forget to mention a special thanks for your comments. Nicely presented, to the point and very helpful when noting down specific points to discuss with the team internally.

From your points something gives me some doubts:

    Quote

When players sign in to a world, they could be grouped by experience. Experienced players are placed together with more croppers (to prevent constantly signing up to be "inexperienced"), while less experienced people are placed further away.

Would this not end up making very strong experience Kingdoms in one side while very weak inexperienced kingdoms in the other?

May be I didn't understand fully what you have in mind with that suggestion...

    Quote

New NPCs could be added to provide farming income. This could also promote more mid-game fighting if done right. Maybe an NPC could be persuaded to join a kingdom (provide income to its players) and has to be defended and can be fought for. These grow relative to surrounding kingdom sizes.

This again worries me for the same issue... would it not provide too strong bugg for bigger Kingdoms vs smaller ones?

    Quote

Forcing smaller kingdoms and more kingdoms.

With this I cannot but agree... the issue is "how?", we have not found a way to make it work that doesn't destroy the game some other way.

    Any ideas anyone?

  • It's good that you pointed out that I was rude, thank you. As someone who has been giving feedback for 4 years, I am smart enough to realize that none of this is cared for. Kindness becomes an insignificant concept when the other person doesn't care about you. You may be a very polite person, but there is a reason you speak in this pattern. It's not out of politeness, it's a pattern they want everyone to use. They think it would be a good thing for everyone to become robots.

Thank you again, I believe you will discuss my thoughts at your nearest meeting. Will you at least inform players about the new Rally Point vulnerability? I don't know if you(TravianGames) apologized to the players for the previous one, I guess you removed it secretly. Are you going to do the same with this, or will you inform the players? In the meantime, if you still haven't figured out what the vulnerabity is, let me tell you a rumor I heard. It's not definitive information, just a rumor. It is said that they can reach the codes related to the hero in the incoming attack. In other words, while they were able to access catapult information in the old vulnerability, they can now access hero information. I hope your testers work a little more meticulously. By the way it's just a rumor the way it's done. Otherwise, it is certain that there is a new rally point vulnerability.

I won't go beyond the topic more, have fun everyone. I'm sorry, Jak , I'm saying these kinds of things on this forum, but everyone has a right to know about such things. People spend their time, money and effort on this game.

  • Yeah, I understand where you're coming from. But I guess it is the same now. I am just suggesting provide some buffer from larger kingdoms so they aren't farms. If you look at the maps end game, you'll see there are only a handful of kingdoms left. If you group stronger players/kingdoms together, you can force them to fight each other, let new people learn the game together. Less farming of them is the goal with these suggestions.

The more time a newer person has to "breathe", the more time they can try things, grow, and get invested like the rest of this. The game is inherently addicting, people just need a chance to grow into it without being destroyed.

Low prestige players are not going to impact the WW or server really at all. If they're lucky, they are picked up by a kingdom kind enough to teach them things. Otherwise they get farmed into deletion. Some barrier has to be created to limit that. I'm proposing distance as that barrier. They still won't impact the WW and won't win, but maybe they'll learn enough to make an impact the second round and build relationships with other new players to continue playing new servers together.

Regarding smaller kingdoms, my idea for that is in the Menhir thread. Force players to only expand within a certain radius. Or require a certain percentage of a players villages to be within kingdom borders. Then, do as someone suggested, and limit the wings by saying you can only do certain things (reinforce, supply villages, etc.). That plus a village % requirement or limitation on number of times you can change kingdoms would limit sizes.

These ideas require looking at the high-level direction of the game. They obviously aren't simple changes. They might have to be combined with other ideas or scaled in certain ways.

  • I'm sorry, Jak , I'm saying these kinds of things on this forum, but everyone has a right to know about such things. People spend their time, money and effort on this game.

Thanks for apologizing LovëGood I have no issue with you posting things like this, so that they may be given the attention needed :)

the problem is when everyone knows about it & just keeps it as some dirty little secret & then comes here saying the Devs do nothing (they need to know & this is constructive, so thanks for that) :)

  • Thank you for recognising it LovëGood but please, let me tell you that you don't need to speak like that to get my attention.

I would like it a lot more if it is done in a nicer way. I assure you that internally there is a lot of discussion, movement and action based on what you, the community, tell us.

Some test will have a good outcome and will end up been implemented, some others will not, but that is just after careful consideration and investigation of how it affects the rest of the game, not only in game play, but technologically too.

leo#EN(19) thank you very much... yes, I see your point regarding distance... although with Menhir the distance could be quickly overcomed.

If a group of veterans finds a Kingdoms with new players around, they could make their game about raiding and destroying them... so a change like that I fear needs the collaboration of the community, understanding that we do need those new players and allowing them to live, understand and get hooked on Kingdoms, so there are future generations for the game.

I totally agree with you, btw, on the fact that the longer a new player experiences Kingdoms the more hooked it gets and the more likely he/she is to become a long term player.

We just need to convince all the big players around of it and try to help those new small players survive their first round. :)

  • leo#EN(19) thank you very much... yes, I see your point regarding distance... although with Menhir the distance could be quickly overcomed

You're assuming that the menhir has to stay. Why with this implementation? Something to consider.

    Quote

We just need to convince all the big players around of it and try to help those new small players survive their first round. :)

There is 0 incentive to do this. Basic game theory. If I don't farm a farmable player, someone else will and get an advantage.
