[Resolved] DDoS Attacks June 8th and following

    Yes, DDoS attacks are super expensive. Not just for us defending, but for them initiating them. That's why we highly suspect that they have to have another source of income, e.g. selling game bots. And these kind of attacks should provoke us to lessen the bans for bots. But we won't.


    I wish, we could use all these resources to actually improve the game and implement some player wishes. There are so many great ones just waiting to be worked on. Especially now would have been a great time since the BBash worlds were so stable and we didn't phase those lagging issues we had on other specials before.

    So basically you just admitted you are not compensating because you are cheap.

    Even if anything is their fault, they will never admit it. I honestly don't recall any major compensation and even in the case of the first Halloween where there was no DDOS, they just had it badly set up.

    So remind me of your biggest compensation, or list of compensations? I recall a book, some heal and 20 gold max. Those people's armies died at completely different values? What are you gonna do? You can't revive them, but now they died say 40€ + time because they couldn't join. Ok, this isn't your fault (+-), but it is your fault that there was no peace when it didn't work for people. What are you going to do?

    That is not true. We made the best out of the situation. The players completely created this achievement badge for the very first Halloween Hunt: You all gave suggestions for the title, the description text and the image. Then, there were public votes on them and the texts with the most votes won. The picture is actually a mix of two images our artist drew following players suggestions, which was also coming from the community.


    Even in the player survey afterwards, most players said they had fun despite the lagging issues. Otherwise, we wouldn't have repeated that event.


    Short version: Yes, I can remember that one. I also can remember we did give out other compensation on top of this achievement, too.


    Thank you for reminding me. We really made the best out of the given circumstances at that time. How long ago was it? 4 years?

On the other hand gold compensation costs you nothing, well maybe couple of euros in lost potential sales but mostlikely nothing significant.

    Yeah, it is working so far. But when you wrote the message, in our discord atleast 5-10 players alerted that the game is down and they cant log in.
    Myself being online during that time, couldnt do half the functions like collect tributes, send merchants, attacks, etc.

    I don't think gold should be given for this, I totally get where BridgetB is coming from when she says they don't want to encourage more by giving this kind of compensation

    (imagine how many more low-life players might decide to start doing the same trick if the reaction from TK is throw gold at it)


    It's frustrating, but I think as players we just need to show our support for the game & not let those trying to ruin it win by us demanding compensation when actually it's not TK's fault this is all happening.


    Imagine if you walked into your favourite store & it'd just been targeted by thieves.

    (and the items you'd pre-ordered & paid for were also robbed) would you demand compensation? or would you offer your support to the store owner?)

    I'm saying if they got sniff that the reaction was to get gold added, it might encourage more attacks of this kind (some people in the World are really struggling to get their hands on gold rn, because of one reason or another) ;)

    I get where you going at but if they have to know how to buy ddos attacks they can trade crypto in non KYC markets also :)

    Yes there are millions of low-life people who would do it in a minute because that is just who they are.

    To those doing the attack...It is not costing them tens and thousands of dollars. Not sure where you got your number but that is inaccurate.
