5 Ideas we would like to get commented by devs

  • You dont build WW in Kingdoms. Its Legends, where they try all kind of new things. They even have 5 Tribes and now they are Beta testing 6th. Kingdoms is still stuck with 3 Tribes. You could also argue, that adding new Tribes adds Imbalances in the game and nobody wants them. But some people get bored to always play the same tribes, and want variety.

    Thanks for proving you haven't even played through a single round of Kingdoms. If you did you would know there are WWs in Kingdoms too. You should play a few rounds and become proficient at the game before suggesting a complete overhaul of the game's design.


    Making a balanced game is easy on paper, but in reality, the more complexity you add the more difficult it becomes to keep things balanced.

    I thought the one wins in Kingdoms who gets most Victory Points from Treasures in the end.


    At least the World Wonder dont seem the victory condtion.


    Well then, if WW is a victory condition in here too, that makes Defensive Troops a bit more viable but still, not a priority. Still, would probably be more benefical to Fake Attack the WW village and hit their Capitols and recource producing cities en masse. As they are sure you want to attack that WW village and mass their troops there. How i see things, they aint going to build that WW if you destroy their resource production even the WW city itself would be left intact. Thats exactly what they excpect you to do, to build that "WW Hammer" and invest everything on that one attack on the WW site. Maybe you shouldnt, maybe you should wait when they go all in to defend their WW site(s) and destroy everything else instead. Also, how are they going to upkeep their armies if you take their crop production away. In my opinion, that WW centralzed thinking opens some new opportunities to take advantage, and maybe you should build on that window of opportunity instead. You can, for example target all crop and Iron Resource fields and make it rare to stall their production. Iron Fields also take the longest to reproduce. Those WW Hammers may be used on Capitals instead to destroy all resource and crop production. The Warehouses wont help them much, if they wont gain resources. Highly likely, you can still use it later on the WW site if needed. Also, to have 100+ so called Rain of Fire army is more valuable at this point than having one large hammer, and hurts the needed reource input way more than one attack on the village and destroying two great warehouses.


    Also, taking away 1 mil troops from defending WW sites and use them on 20x50k armies to destroy their resource production and support infrastructure is probabaly way more efficient, than having extra million defender on a site with few million defenders already. If you learn the timelines everyone is moving their troops to defend the WW sites, you can time your attacks there and divide the armies to many smaller ones, to maximize their impact. What you need a lot, is catapult waves and fake attacks to confuse them, especially on WW sites. Having fewer defenders on WW sites might also bait the enemy to use their WW Hammers early when you dont and to rush to defend their WW sites when they are ahead. Then you take away their production and slowly move to defend your sites instead building warehouse capacity first.


    There at least was lack of people to raid in the server i played. I found none.


    Well doesnt matter, as i am trying Legends next. Not having politics in a game like this makes it seem dull.


    Those things i suggested are like super simple. They are not hard to balance at all. For example, Starcraft 1 is way more complicated and on top of that you control the units with all kind of abilities in real time, and can use environment to hide individual troops, evade shots and stuff like that. Still they made it good, and never changed any of it even to this day. And people are playing it even now, so maybe Starcraft 1 is the prime example when balancing the game is done right, and those people really knew how to do it.


    As in balancing Travian, i doubt it have been changed much, if any. I tried it many years back. I am not sure nor do i remember, but i think the troops might had the same statistics and the game was pretty much the same. Its also pretty simple as a game. Travian mechanics is not that complicated but i like the mechanics in this game. The main problem is that it gets repeatative. I think that was the reason i stopped playing it in the past, i probably played only some hours or a day or two. The same with a similar space game called ogame. It became repeatative, and then lost interest on it.


    The Kingdom mechanics is one that could keep it interesting after the gameplay itself gets repeatative or taxing.

  • Nope, im suggesting to bring features to this game that exist in Legends, not Kingdoms. Also, im not suggesting to stop creating normal servers either, but to create some special servers on top of the normal servers, giving people variety without taking anything away.


    Kingdoms have features that Legends dont. So, for example playing Legends with additional Tribes (Egyptians and Huns) would not be the same as playing Legends with additional Tribes.


    The one thing that the devs might also have to think in the future is, that if the income from Kingdoms becomes so low, and the playerbase shrinks to few hundred players. Is it profitable to keep the game running anymore, and transfer to upkeep only Legend servers, abandoning Kingdoms as a whole. Or, that Kingdoms would be made just a special server within Legends. Thats basically what it is already, but with different graphics.


    How i have gathered, atm it is profitable to keep it running, but have almost minimal effort to do anything about the game. And also, the player community seems to be fine with it.


    The same happened to Starcraft 2. Blizzard calculated that it is not profitable anymore to hold tournaments in Blizzcon, and gave the whole Pro scene away without supervising or funding it anymore. Nowdays it is funded by individual means, and Blizzard does not hold the right to the pro circuit anymore as they do not want to be part of it. Probably because of negative profits.

    You should learn to play a game reasonably well before you try making suggestions that would completely overhaul the game as we know it. You lack the game understanding to make good suggestions.

    So i would ask no more provocation and let the thing be. But have to say, this is the single worst gaming community i have ever encountered. One strong tell is, that i asked twice in Discord to drop the subject. It just continues. If i now wont read this forum again, maybe i start to get some private messages then or is the goal just to drive someone away. If thats the case, then there should not be a problem after im gone.


    New person comes, invite him to "discuss" which basically means you group on someone through internet and provoke, insult and ridicule that person for your own amusement.


    I was invited by Metsui or something, that people want to "discuss" with me, and what do i find. Something best avoided. Basically a group of bullies. And from the mannerism and all i gather, this have happened many times before so, it is a pattern. So, some kind of group of bullies reign here and thats basically the most noisy part of the community, and everyone is fine with it.


    There are suggestion to be strict about cheaters, but what would you care really. Cheating is not the main problem here. Its strong personalities who are most likely evil by nature. So do you want to play with that kind of people ? I dont.



    Please dont focus on me, but backtrack to the original purpose of this thread.

    If i unerstand how that works, you never do defensive armies, and only offensive ones because you cannot intercept attacking armies because of Fake Attacks.


    So basically defensive troops are void, and you only make attacking troops, and if someone attacks you just attack back.


    It seems that noone answered this.


    Why you don't just attack back if someone attacks you?

    Because any organized kingdom can make an off operation that will wipe out a village or city within few seconds. So if someone attacks your off village with such operation you won't attack back, because your village and army that was there does not exist anymore (if village is destroyed, all troops from this village just disappear, even if they weren't killed).


    So you as a kingdom need to defend against this. So you build def, and it turns out that except of early game def is much stronger than off. That's because off has to be built in one village(the more you split your off, the less effective it is because each battle is counted separately), but def can be gathered from any number of them. Therefore the more villages def players have, the stronger they are compared to off player.


    And because of that Fake Attacks are very important, as they force defenders to split their army. Without Fake Attacks you will never have a chance of making a successfull operation against any kingdom that is at least slightly organized.

  • I think the real problem is that nobody takes you serious as you haven't played even whole round yet.

    Id say join some decent team on next comx3 and learn the basic things first you try to change them.


    And yes, cheaters are the main problem why this game loses players constantly.

  • You just have some really bad and ill-informed ideas and nobody likes them. It's like watching a compilation of fail videos on youtube, one can't help but laugh. Everyone has been really patient with you and respectful towards you, but you can't seem to handle feedback on your ideas.

    If you are referring to cheat … then you need reading glasses. That was the first thing I mentioned. Improvements against cheats is always needed. If you are referring to attack rules (camps & hero) I personally against that for the same reason I mentioned before.

    and lots of games cost more so increase the gold price

    what other games do you play and pay more than (on average $300 per server)? Speed servers is like 2 months. So yeah I stick with my thought, it is an expensive game

    I wouldn't mind a bit cheaper gold, but how in hell are you spending on average $300 per server?

    If you buy package for 90€ you can just buy all possible bonuses in game and still have almost 2.5k gold left.

    I mean....
    I met people in other games that are not by servers but progressive games, that spent around $1.5k USD a MONTH!

    so $300 per server after seeing that other person in that other game.... seems "reasonable" in the limit of what should be reasonable.... I preffer those 300 USD to buy 5 or 6 games of PC or even so, save 4 servers and buy a decent PC,,,,


    but to each their own economy and life.

    A. It’s 458k & 35k druid … obviously not total production as there was defensive spent prior that screenshot. It was taken Right before last WW attack.

    B. if you can do better please let me see.

    You are forgetting silver & items market and cards for extra slots and other bonuses.

    I pay in AUD and exchange rate is higher for me. But I admit, I do spend a lot of gold less efficient to what I should be doing.
